Prevention of Blindness and Deafness Mission

This August, we kickstarted our mission to prevent blindness in Guinobatan Albay and Bulan Sorsogon.

We would like to thank our partner, the Eye Hear Foundation who provided the service for those visually impaired, in need of eye surgery, hearing impaired, and those in need of treatment.

With their assistance, we were able to provide cataract surgery and pterygium surgery. Optometrists and opticians from the Eye Hear Foundation also brought so much joy to those who can see clearly again with the provision of eyeglasses.

There were many challenges, including getting children to come for low vision tests and color blindness, as well as heavy rains and floods in the area. But we were still able to provide 235 surgical interventions in Guinobatan and Bulan.

We are grateful for our teams in Guinbatan and Bulan for their compassionate service to persons in need. We would also like to thank the interns from Don Bosco and everyone who joined the health team. Saludo and mabalos!
