The Mercy Mission to the parishes in need in Catanduanes starts tomorrow

The Mercy Mission to the parishes in need in Catanduanes starts with a ferry ride tomorrow June 25.

We are visiting 10 identified parishes in need to bring manna rice (fortified with micronutrients ) to in need women who are pregnant and lactating women.

We have identified 10 parishes in the diocese of Virac to provide 180 multivitamins to every pregnant and lactating woman in the distant and difficult to reach parishes.

Joyfully we will do eye screening for the detection of cataract and pterygium among 40 years old and above . Reading lens will also be made available if needed.

In the parishes communities and barangays we will enable mothers to bring their children who have cleft lip and cleft palate for Smile Train sponsored surgical intervention at Estevez Memorial Hospital.

Children from age 6 months to 59 months in the communities who will gather at the identified parishes in the diocese of Catanduanes will be if needed dewormed and provided with Vitamin A.

We will be visiting areas in need of clean water in different parishes and elementary schools in Catanduanes to identify sites for water filtration ministry.

We need prayers for the success of this mission …it is difficult for pregnant or lactating moms to walk far or ride habal-habal where there is no tricycle. And sometimes they have no one to leave their babies. Or even sometimes they have insufficient funds for a transportation.
